Latest News and DevelopmentsLittle Ninjas Grading Well done to Kirsten, Tom, Zoe, Sam, Jamie, Adam, Matthew, Matthew, and Ethan who all passed their grading on the 3rd of July. New Students Welcome to our newest group of Little Ninjas Abbie, Rianna, Sam, Bailey, Aleena, Tom, Ben, Ben, Declan and Jenna, who started in July. Welcome to Harry who has recently joined our juniors class and Tessa, Chloe and Douglas who have joined our seniors class in June. Coloured Belt Grading Following the grading on the 15th of June, we are pleased to announce the following promotions: Juniors: Lauren Bainbridge promoted to 9th Kup. Amy Lawson, Emilia Blaylock, Kitty Lund and Vicky Wright promoted to 8th Kup. Seniors: Alan Wynmclean promoted to 1st Kup. Jon Turner and Jake Churchill promoted to 2nd Kup and David Brier promoted to 3rd Kup. A special mention goes out to the seniors, who were really put through their paces by Mr. Rigg on his first time out as a grading examiner. At the end of the grading Mr. Jackson was presented with his official ITF black belt certificate by Mr. Rigg. British Championship Results 4 of our students travelled up to Perth, Scotland on the 14th of June to compete in the UKTF British Championships. The competition was the largest that the UKTF has had in 4 years with over 300 competitors in attendence. David Scott was crowned British Champion after earning a gold medal in sparring. Gary Eland earned a silver medal in sparring in a close fight. Aaron Dunlop earned a silver medal in patterns and a bronze in sparring and Amy Hullock earned a silver medal in patterns. For 3 of our students, this was their first time competing. What a great result! Results and photographs can be found by visiting the UKTF websites, www.UKTF.com and www.UKTF.co.uk International Instructor and Examiner Status Following the International Instructors Course in Dublin at the beginning of May, Mr. Rigg has now met the necessary requirements to become an international instructor and examiner. Well done! Senior Rank Gradings It has been a busy and successful spring for Penrith TaeKwon-Do School. Congratulations to our head instructor Mr. Ian Rigg, who passed his grading examination in front of the ITFE grading panel on April the 6th, 2008 in London. Mr. Rigg has now reached the rank of 4th degree black belt. Well done Sir! Well done to Mr. Charlton, head instructor of Charlton TKD in Blaydon, Tyne and Wear. Mr. Charlton and Mr. Rigg trained together in preparation for the above grading and Mr. Charlton was also promoted to 4th degree. Congratulations to Stuart Jackson, who passed his recent grading examination in front of the North of England regional grading panel on March the 31st, 2008 in Whitley Bay. Mr. Jackson is now a 1st degree black belt. Well done Sir! Well done to Mr. Neill Pillens, from Mr. Stronach's dojang, who passed his first degree with Mr. Jackson. Photo's now in gallery. October 15th to 19th. 3rd World Cup. Italy. December Coloured belt grading held at Beaconside Infant School on Saturday the 6th beginning at 10am. Next Years World Championships to be held on 25th to 29th of November, 2009 in Argentina.
